One last time, "just for kicks".Eyzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05350758607787528425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-82423536803120974872012-04-09T03:31:43.282-05:002012-04-09T03:31:43.282-05:00I too was so disappointed. Even the characters seemed embarrassed to be involved.Hixnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-73379298372772995852012-04-08T13:41:09.292-05:002012-04-08T13:41:09.292-05:00I think Superman's been pretty great of late, ...I think Superman's been pretty great of late, ever since Johns Superman and the Legion. I was nearly indifferent at the start of the massive New Krypton saga, but wow! what an ending. Taken as a whole it's very impressive. I've also very much enjoyed the Black Ring, Grounded and the second book of Reign of Doomsday. The Superman stories of the last few years have been remarkably terrific. Easily the most fun since Loeb and McGinnis' run in the 90s.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-20642274369612503502012-04-05T10:58:43.995-05:002012-04-05T10:58:43.995-05:00As the closer to an entire era of Superman stories...As the closer to an entire era of Superman stories, this book is quite disappointing. I never got the feeling that Cornell was invested in this story like he was in Black Ring, and the four different artists (five if you count issue #900) didn't help. The fact that DC let Kenneth Rocafort leave the book early to get a jump start on Red Hood and the Outlaws shows that giving the pre-Flashpoint Superman a proper send-off was far from a priority for them.

However, I commend DC for collecting all of Action Comics #900 in this book. Not all of those short stories are winners, but there are some real gems in there, especially the Jor-El tale by Lindelof and Sook. If only they had done the same for Wonder Woman #600.shagamuhttp://mbbforum.com/mbbnoreply@blogger.com
