Looking forward to see where both go from here ,and what the third series may be (Wonder Woman hopefully. One hopes the Dcnu hasn't made these volumes totally redundant as well .Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16151461247895314814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-48002601424855006462012-07-12T13:53:38.683-05:002012-07-12T13:53:38.683-05:00Good review. As much as I want more of these, I would prefer if DC keeps the QTY low and the quality high.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-12986894320578658212012-07-10T16:44:26.953-05:002012-07-10T16:44:26.953-05:00The best/worst thing about these Earth One books i...The best/worst thing about these Earth One books is how eager I am for another one as soon as the current one is over. At least with trades -- I can't believe I'm going to say this -- you still get a little bit of the story in the time between volumes because of solicitations, etc.; for Earth One, it's just a volume and then nuthin' till the next one. Constant solicits have perhaps made me impatient -- Superman: Earth One Vol. 2 can't come soon enough.collectededitionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14698269790653953645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-78526336187442219832012-07-09T22:13:29.402-05:002012-07-09T22:13:29.402-05:00I'll admit I wasn't very excited about thi...I'll admit I wasn't very excited about this book at first. While Frank's art is always worth the price of admission, Johns never struck me as the right writer for a Batman book. And boy, did he prove me wrong.

Every single departure from established Batman lore worked fantastically well, especially bad-ass Alfred and washed-out TV star Bullock, and the 130+ pages just flew by. Now I just want Johns and Frank to finish the Shazam strip already so they can start working on volume 2. Straczysnki has a tough act to follow now.shagamuhttp://mbbforum.com/mbbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-67042153959931386232012-07-09T05:03:38.370-05:002012-07-09T05:03:38.370-05:00This really feels like DC & Johns building the...This really feels like DC & Johns building the basis of what might become the future rebooted Batman movie...
We'll see..Eyzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05350758607787528425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-59041723716499697232012-07-05T09:25:00.904-05:002012-07-05T09:25:00.904-05:00Maybe this has to do with more with my expectation...Maybe this has to do with more with my expectations but I wanted more Alfred and less Harvey Bullock. When I heard that Geoff Johns was going to reinvent Alfred from the typical father-figure butler to a more military advisory role, I was thinking "Yes, that makes a lot of more sense".

We did get some of that in the last few pages in the end but I really wanted more. Hopefully the training of Bruce Wayne from Alfred will be addressed in the next volume (assuming there is another), instead of being glossed over and assumed.Jackie Tamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10978552887553267055noreply@blogger.com
