I just read this as well and I wasn't sure what to expect. I can't think of anything else DC has done that has been so universally reviled by fans. Wasn't this part of the 'let's get rid of Didio' debacle? I kept an open mind and I enjoyed it, the individual tales tie together well and the minor tie-ins reward those fans who have read the other books. Volume 2 just came out and is on my list next.
