More than we got for Wonder Woman #600, to be sure; still wish they'd included that final Gail Simone story in Wonder Woman: Contagion.collectededitionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14698269790653953645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-79431448883548994022011-10-13T11:58:12.161-05:002011-10-13T11:58:12.161-05:00Judging by DC's December solicitations, the Re...Judging by DC's December solicitations, the Reign of Doomsday HC will reprint all of Action Comics #900, including the back-up stories. Goyer is listed as one of the writers along with Cornell, Johns and many others who worked on that issue.shagamuhttp://mbbforum.com/mbbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-54161663362975315752011-10-13T11:25:48.957-05:002011-10-13T11:25:48.957-05:00I overlooked that Action Comics #900 is also colle...I overlooked that Action Comics #900 is also collected in the Reign of Doomsday hardcover. That is strange, since one book follows to another -- at least with the Secret Six/Action crossover, Secret Six readers might not otherwise have come over to the Action trade and vice-versa.

Only way I see that it works is that if Reign readers are coming over from Return of Doomsday (collecting Steel, Superboy, etc.) and not from Black Ring. Then that gives Return readers the relevant Action issue without subjecting them to Lex's whole journey -- put another way, Return readers follow Superman while Black Ring readers follow Lex. But yes, for an issue as large as Action #900, is it troublesome.

I guess I was hoping DC would be brave enough to reprint the controversial David Goyer story from Action #900 in Reign of Doomsday, given that's the "last" Superman collection (pre-Flashpoint). But you're probably right, it's probably the lead story.collectededitionshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14698269790653953645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10945794.post-37351308774214502282011-10-13T11:11:57.781-05:002011-10-13T11:11:57.781-05:00The way Cornell tied the end of The Black Ring to ...The way Cornell tied the end of The Black Ring to the beginning of Reign of Doomsday was very problematic for the collected editions.

Assuming the oversized main story from Action Comics #900 will also be reprinted in its entirety in the Reign of Doomsday HC, readers who didn't follow The Black Ring will be lost if they pick up that collection, while readers who already bought the two previous HC's will get over 50 redundant pages.shagamuhttp://mbbforum.com/mbbnoreply@blogger.com
