Superman: New Krypton trade reading order

Blink and you might've missed it, but over the weekend DC Comics had War of the Supermen as a Comixology new release again, with a note that the whole eight-plus-issue Superman: New Krypton saga would be $0.99 for a few days, much like they did with Batman #600-700 some months ago. Either I misunderstood or this didn't happen, because War of the Supermen left the digital new release list shortly thereafter. [Edit: Sale later happened March 4-5, 2011.]

At the back of the digital War of the Supermen #0, however, is a boffo checklist of all the Superman: New Krypton stories, organized in single issue reading order. For our trade reading friends out there, we now present that list translated into the definitive reading order for hardcover and trade paperback -- if you still haven't picked up the Superman: New Krypton books, here's how to do it.

    Thinking about the best way to read these makes my head explode. Thanks for your kindness in posting this. I think in around 3 months time I'll be ready to read them all in one go.

    I notice that some of the later books listed here aren't in the TPB timeline yet? Is there a big post-Blackest Night update coming soon? :-)

    DC via Comixology is having a .99c sale right now on every New Krypton comic. I've just purchased Action Comics 879 - 889 to finally have the uncollected Captain Atom co-features by James Robinson and Cafu. That's definitely my biggest leap into Digital comic reading.

    It sure would be nice if DC would un-bundle the issues and co-features on their digital site. Once the New Krypton sale ends, I bet you'd have to pay almost $22 if you want to read the Captain Atom co-features -- and they're only ten pages each.

    Thanks for the timeline. I will save it for my second reading of this long storyline.

    I would also be interested in a timeline for Morrison's Batman. We've already discussed the reading order of RIP and Final Crisis, and there is a comparable situation with 'Batman & Robin Vol. 3: Batman must die!' and 'Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne' (and perhaps even 'Time and the Batman'). All of these were release simultaneously in single issues, in part heavily delayed, so I like to know how everyone here approached these stories.
