Bob! Congrats! Thanks for playing Comic Book Connections. For accuracy, the Batman villains are Batman villain _last names_ — all of those are the actual last names of the characters referenced. But great job!

I had pledged to sit out this week to give someone else a chance, and I'm glad I did. I was stumped this week. I had the "Mr." and the "Big" and even the "Great" categories, but I had "Zsasz" among my five Misters, and I couldn't figure out how to eliminate one. I had no idea who Deacon Backfire is, and without knowing that, I couldn't group my remaining names under any meaningful banner or remove one of my Misters for my win.

Yeah, at some point it was just Batman villains (and not Batman villains who go by their own last names) and I had Freeze or Fries in there to complicate the “Misters.” I’d never profess to really knowing what I’m doing, but usually I’m trying to have a couple that ostensibly seem to fit into one category but really end up in another. And also to spotlight some of my favorites — the germ of this one was Maxie Zeus, and then I probably had “Great Hera” on another list, and when I saw “Zeus” and “Hera,” that started to bring it all together.
DeleteYour waiting it out gave me an idea. I’ll post about the same time and reply to partial guesses soon as I can, but I won’t make any full solutions public until much later in the day or sometime the next. So guess away, and I’ll hold back the answers and that’ll give more people a chance.
